INSANITY, ATTITUDE & SUCCESS

I am about to prove to you that 95% of the population are insane, and the only sane people are the 5% who have an “insane” attitude which has led them to success.

Einstein said that the definition of insanity is continuing doing the same thing that you have always done, and expecting to get different results.

Now it is my observation that almost everyone I know is in this rut – they are comfortable with the known, no matter how uncomfortable it may be in reality. They would rather die miserable, than risk trying the unknown. Change terrifies them. Society has taught them that change is dangerous. Consequently very few people are prepared to take a chance and do something that is outside of their comfort zone. They ache for change, but are not capable of doing anything differently. They live by the paradigms that they have been programmed with since birth. That is the only truth that they know – “That is just the way it is”.

What a sad way of living life. It is not living, but merely existing.To believe that your destiny is pre-ordained, that you have no control over your life, that the environment in which you grew up in predicts your life as an adult. This is the paradigm of society. This is what we are brain-washed to believe all our lives. And this is considered normal ?????????

SOCIETY IS INSANE! Society teaches us not to do anything different. Society says that anyone who steps out of society’s comfort zone is insane! Society teaches us that it is dangerous to think differently to what society accepts as the “truth”. Now, in my opinion, that is insanity.

The uncomfortable truth is that:

THE NORM IS INSANITY! And the unusual is sanity.

So what is normally considered as insanity, is in fact GENIUS – be different, examine all behaviors and attitudes with a magnifying glass. Choose to be different. Adopt a new attitude. Know that if your closest friends and/or family tell you that you are crazy, then that means that you are doing something right. Take it as a green light, and be even crazier. Remember that the biggest compliment that you can get is to be told that you are insane :)

Society is constantly protecting its existence, and that is why it teaches us that change is dangerous and that being different is unacceptable. But the only way to evolve and grow is by doing things differently. Eventually Society will change along with us. Look at History. We are living in a very different world than 100 years ago. Change happened, whether we liked it or not. Sometimes there were revolutions, sometimes it just happened gradually. But it happened. Life is not static, we are either growing or dying – there is no such thing as standing still.

Statistics show that only about 5% of the population are successful. Why do you think that 95% are average or below? Obviously the 5% are doing something different – they are the “crazy” ones. The other 95% continue doing the same thing that they have always done, and some of them actually expect to get different results. Therefore, according to this hypothesis, 95% of the population are insane, and the other 5% are totally sane.

So the first step to success is to be crazy. Adopt an insane attitude, enjoy being considered crazy, and have fun doing things differently.

Easier said than done? Sure. And that is why you need to surround yourself with like-minded people. People who will lift you up, people who believe that there is another way of doing things, people who will embrace you for your courage to be different, people who believe in you and will support you. These are the same people who the rest of the world consider crazy, and who are proud to be different.

Look around you. Take a group of 10 friends – what is the average earnings of 9 of them? Is it likely to be what the 10th friend (you) earns? “Birds of a feather flock together”. Consider surrounding yourself with millionaires – how would you like to earn what they are earning? Make friends with highly successful people, hang out with them, ask them questions, pick their brains, adopt their attitudes, learn to think like them, make success the norm, and soon you’ll be one of them.

If you really want to be above average and to enjoy success, you have to make the painful choice to stop hanging out with the friends you have always hung out with (that is if they are “average”). This could be the biggest step you’ll ever take on your success journey. It is simply just another example of doing things differently. It can be painful (almost like divorce), but you can still be friends with them, just start spending more time with your new friends, and less with them.

Remember your status in life is the average of the people with whom you spend most of your time.

It is what you really want for yourself that matters above everything else. When you hang out with truly successful and happy people (if they are not happy, they are not successful – no matter how big their bank account) you will learn that true success is never at the expense of others. In fact it is achieved by helping and guiding others to their success. Zig Ziglar, a legendary motivational speaker, said “if you help enough people to get what they want, you will end up getting what you want”.

The Secret of Bicarbonate of Soda

Overlooked 150 Year Old Household Cleaner a Remedy for Swine Flu?

In today’s modern world of medicine the FDA just will not let companies that sell products make medical claims about them unless they have been tested at great expense, and approved as a drug. But this was not always the case.

In a 1924 booklet published by the Arm & Hammer Soda Company, the company starts off saying, “The proven value of Arm & Hammer Bicarbonate of Soda as a therapeutic agent is further evinced by the following evidence of a prominent physician named Dr. Volney S. Cheney, in a letter to the Church & Dwight Company:

“In 1918 and 1919 while fighting the ‘Flu’ with the U. S. Public Health Service it was brought to my attention that rarely any one who had been thoroughly alkalinized with bicarbonate of soda contracted the disease, and those who did contract it, if alkalinized early, would invariably have mild attacks.

Recommended dosages from the Arm and Hammer Company for colds and influenza back in 1925 were:

  • During the first day take six doses of half teaspoonful of Bicarbonate of Soda in glass of cool water, at about two hour intervals
  • During the second day take four doses of half teaspoonful of Bicarbonate of Soda in glass of cool water, at the same intervals
  • During the third day take two doses of half teaspoonful of Bicarbonate of Soda in glass of cool water morning and evening, and thereafter half teaspoonful in glass of cool water each morning until cold is cured

SUCCESS IN PARENTING

honest_parenting_key_words_pink.jpgMy son just announced his engagement to a lovely, lovely girl. I couldn’t be happier. We met her parents tonight, and they are also fantastic people. Seems to me that I must have done something right. :-) Seems to me that her parents must have done something right. :-)

I’ve been thinking about that all the way home. I will now be blessed with 2 loving daughters-in-law. They are both very dear to me. I cannot find fault with them, and I am 100% sure that I will never have an argument with either of them.  It’s been more than ten years since my first son got married. So I think I know my first daughter-in-law pretty well by now.

RESPOND OR REACT?

What is the difference? Simply put, one reacts automatically, without thinking, whereas a response is the result of first considering various options and then deciding on the appropriate action.
